ORANGE COUNTY, CA – California United Strikers FC announced their final addition to the 2021 Spring Roster with Alejandro "Chile" Araneda joining.

"I'm really looking forward to my first professional season, it will be exciting for me to prove myself, and it will be a good test to see how my development is evolving," reflected Araneda after signing his contract.

Chile is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder that has the physical and technical attributes to take the Cal United midfield to another dimension. He's another locally produced player, playing at both Arsenal FC and FC Golden State academies in the Inland Empire.

The 18-year old's signing stays consistent with Cal United's goal of using locally produced prospects that are looking to reach their professional aspirations.

"I wanted to sign with Cal United because I love the way they play and the great coaching staff," says Araneda. "It's really helped me become a better player in the little time I've been here."

General Manager and President, Michael Collins, was very happy with Araneda's signing, "Alex is a very exciting, young prospect. We are very forntunate to have him part of the squad and I think we are in for a treat with his addition for the season."

Looking beyond, the young midfielder has set himself some high-flying goals this season already, "I want to score my first league goal and bring home the championship. I'm going to do all I can to ensure the team will succeed."
